In-ovo life development heavily relies on the ability of egg lecithin, including phospholipids, cholesterol and carotenoids, to self-assemble into cell membrane grids thereby allowing for the genetic information to be transcribed and translated into functional and structural cell components and, eventually, into an independent living bird. From that perspective, one cannot miss the not-so-far reaching opportunity of turning egg lipids into bio-transistors for the next generation of computers to keep abide with the prediction of the historical Moore’s law.
